How My Brixham Holiday got a guest-friendly website that actually converts
A web design project that turned a growing Brixham holiday lettings business into a properly equipped online operation — with a seamless Supercontrol booking integration, mobile-first design and a user experience built specifically for guests planning their South Devon escape.
About the client
A growing Brixham holiday lettings business ready for a proper online home
My Brixham Holiday Lets have quickly become one of the leading holiday accommodation providers in Brixham, offering visitors a handpicked collection of properties in the heart of this much-loved Devon fishing town. With a variety of cottages, houses and self-catering apartments available, the business had strong foundations — a loyal repeat customer base, great properties and a genuine passion for Brixham.
Having worked with owner Stephen King previously, we were delighted to be brought on board for this new project. The brief was clear: build a website that matched the quality of the properties on offer, integrated properly with their Supercontrol booking management system, and made it as easy as possible for guests to find and book their perfect Brixham getaway.

Building a website that worked hard
The challenge with My Brixham Holiday wasn't just about making something that looked good. It was about building a website that could genuinely do the job — handling real bookings, managing availability across multiple properties, and presenting everything in a way that felt inviting, trustworthy and easy to navigate for guests who just wanted to book a great holiday.
When we first started working together, both the branding and messaging were in early stages. The website needed to project a friendly, welcoming tone of voice while also functioning as a fully operational booking platform. On top of that, the audience for a Brixham holiday lettings business browses predominantly on mobile — so performance, speed and mobile usability weren't optional extras. They were the whole point.
The integration with Supercontrol — a specialist property management and booking system widely used in the holiday lettings industry — added a technical dimension that required careful implementation to ensure a smooth, reliable experience for both guests and the management team behind the scenes.
Guest experience first, everything else built around it
We approached this project from the perspective of the guest. What does someone planning a Brixham holiday actually need from a website? They need to find the right property quickly, check availability easily, understand what's included, and complete a booking without friction. Every design and technical decision we made was evaluated against that standard.
Working closely with Stephen and his team, we developed a brand voice that felt genuinely warm and welcoming — the kind of tone that makes someone feel like they're booking with a real person who cares about their stay, rather than a faceless platform. That voice was carried through every piece of copy and reflected in the design choices we made.
The Supercontrol integration was implemented from day one — not bolted on afterwards. This meant the booking flow, property search and availability calendar were all designed as part of the core user journey rather than treated as a technical afterthought.
After the first phase went live, we continued to refine the experience based on real user behaviour. We identified aspects of the booking process that were causing hesitation — particularly around search flexibility — and expanded the search filters to include pet-friendly options, date flexibility and other criteria that Brixham holiday guests commonly use.
